There have been publications circulating in the media that rubbing alcohol, which has been the cause of dozens of deaths, has also been used in the local market for producing hand sanitizer.
Aravot Daily asked the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport if there is any guarantee that hand sanitizer containing ethanol will not be used in schools. We also asked if any steps are being taken by the Ministry to prevent this.
“When public schools obtain sanitary products, they follow the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health. The ministry also follows these guidelines when it makes purchases. What is available on the market is not our problem,” a representative from the Public Relations and Information Department of the Ministry responded.
