The chief of staff to the Prime Minister, Eduard Aghajanyan, denied rumors published in the media that the government’s ‘Number One’ aircraft was painted, which cost $250,000.
At the end of the ruling party’s meeting, Eduard Aghajanyan told reporters, “I am unable to publish that number due to the fact that it contains elements of confidentiality, within which the plane serving the Prime Minister fits. I can say that the actual number is several times less. I have specifically instructed them to present a demand for denial to the particular news outlet.”
One of the reporters mentioned that the government has always spoken about being open and transparent on how it governs. The chief of staff responded that the law states that it is forbidden to publicize such information since the Prime Minister’s airplane is considered to be an object that is subject to secrecy.
Eduard Aghajanyan explained that the writing that had been on the plane was being removed due to the fact that the paint was wearing off. This also caused problems. Therefore, it was necessary to update the paint job.
