Need to teach a separate “Civil Defense” subject in schools was discussed

The regular consultation meeting of the Ministry of Emergency Situations held led by the Minister of Emergency Situations Andranik Piloyan. Before starting the consultation, the Minister extended his condolences on the untimely death of the Head of the Technogenic Accidents Divisionof the Rescue Service of MES, Colonel Karapet Karapetyan.

Heads of the Civil and Rescue Departments of the system reported on the current activities and the process of implementing the assignments of the Minister during the last week according to the agenda of the consultation.

The issue of bringing shelters in good condition, providing with essential medicines, water and dry food and alarm systems is still the key  in cooperation with local self-government bodies in all provinces. The discussions were held with the specialists of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of RA on teaching civil defense in public schools as a separate subject was also mentioned.

Among other issues, it was reported that due to the winter season, rescue departments are ready to cooperate with local governments in ensuring roadway safety. A number of assignments were given to the Structural and Regional Subdivisions on raised issues.

Minister awarded Martin Gurgeni Aslanyan, Head of the Expert Laboratory of “National center of Technical Safety” SNCO to the “Cooperation for Salvation” medal for his courage in participating in hostilities in the Artsakh war at the end of the meeting.
