Deputy Prime Minister on return of prisoners of war, Khtsaberd, and Hin Shen

Continuous work is being carried out with the Azerbaijani side on the return of prisoners of war, in addition to work regarding data confirmation.

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan spoke about this during a session of government on Thursday.

According to him, “The first group of the prisoners of war returned this week, but continuous work is being carried out regarding data confirmation on prisoners of war and steps to exchange them in the future. In addition, negotiations are being carried out with the Azerbaijani side with the involvement of the Red Cross and the Russian side. The second issue is regarding the incident in Khtsaberd and the individuals who are most likely prisoners. We are currently confirming data. The Chief of the General Staff Onik Gasparyan is currently in Artsakh to understand the solutions and carry out discussions. Discussions are also being held with the Azerbaijani side. We expect a resolution to be reached in the near future,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

Tigran Avinyan also spoke about Hin Shen, noting that there was some tension in Hin Shen. At the moment, there is communication between the positions. The issue has not been completely resolved, and there are Russian peacekeepers currently deployed there. “We expect that we will also reach a resolution soon regarding Hin Shen.”
