New research collaboration between the Russian-Armenian University and University of Zurich

The Department of World Politics and International Relation of the Institute of Law and Politics of the Russian-Armenian University in collaboration with the Center for Eastern European Studies (CEES) at the Universität Zurich has received a Seed Funding Grant with countries of the CIS Region launched by the University of Geneva acting as the Leading House for Swiss Science and Technology Cooperation with Russia and the CIS Region.

The project is entitled “Europe’s Geopolitical Future: Mapping Perspectives on EU policy in its Eastern Neighborhood”. It will run for 18 months and will comprise research and two workshops at the Russian-Armenian University and the University of Zurich.

The call was designed to provide seed funding for projects between academic actors in Switzerland and the following countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

The University of Geneva received 31 proposals from 16 Swiss institutions and in collaboration with 7 countries, in very diverse academic areas. With the funds allocated to this call, about a third of these projects will be financed. The final selection of projects is based on a few criteria: the evaluation scores, the scope of the call, the distribution of scientific disciplines as well as participating institutions.
