As a result of the document signed on November 9, 2020, the Karvachar region of Artsakh was handed over to Azerbaijan.
At the end of November, with the mediation of the Russian peacekeeping forces, an agreement was reached according to which the faithful will be able to visit Dadivank with an escort by the Russian peacekeepers.
As we were informed, a group of worshippers was preparing to visit Dadivank with a Russian escort from Renaissance Square in Artsakh on February 7th.
When the group reached Dadivank, their vehicle reached the Azerbaijani checkpoint located near the monastery complex, but the Azerbaijanis prohibited them from visiting Dadivank, saying that they were not previously informed of these people’s visit.

The Russian peacekeepers and the head of the group explained to the Azerbaijanis that everyone was informed, but the Azerbaijanis did not change their minds. Even more, they told the worshippers as they left to wait so that they could make some confirmations.
Three hours later, the Russian peacekeepers escorted the worshippers to Dadivank. This time, after waiting a while, the Azerbaijanis did not agree to open the route. They explained that they received orders to not only prohibit groups of worshippers, but also priests coming to replace the other priests on their shifts from going to Dadivank.
They did not open the road. This is a new order.
