On May 10, pursuant to Article 140.3 of the constitutional law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, a special sitting of the National Assembly was convened by force of law. The item of the Prime Minister’s election was on the agenda.
According to Article 149.3 of the RA Constitution and Article 140.6 and 7 of the constitutional law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, at least one third of the deputies’ total number nominated Nikol Pashinyan’s candidacy.
The Head of My Step Faction Lilit Makunts informed that at this phase Prime Minister’s candidate should be introduced for dissolving the National Assembly, at the proposal of the deputies’ one third My Step Faction presented the Prime Minister’s candidacy.
In his speech the RA Prime Minister’s candidate Nikol Pashinyan has noted that the goal of today’s sitting is not electing Prime Minister, but maintaining necessary procedures for holding other snap parliamentary elections.
