It took nearly a year to create the vaccine against COVID-19, and since April it has become available for Armenia. The residents of Yerevan can get vaccinated in any policlinic.

According to the RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, getting vaccinated is vital as it will make it possible to put an end to the pandemic.

If there are no contraindications such as temperature, acute illness, low saturation rate, vaccination can be done at any moment. Before getting vaccinated people get medical check out.

After getting vaccinated people stay in the clinic under the control of a therapist for 30 min at least.
Vaccination is free for people of 18+age group. Vaccination is available both for those who hasn’t been infected yet and for those who suffered the virus previously. You should have your ID documents with you when visited policlinics for vaccination.

When Astrazeneca vaccine is used the time of opening is marked as it can be used within 6 hours and is provided for 10 people. As soon as it is expired it is sent to be burnt. The second vaccination is done 8 weeks later.

Sputnik-V vaccine is stored at very low temperatures -200 C0. It is melted before use. The Minister assures that everything is done to follow the schedule of supplies so as the citizens could get proper vaccination.

According to the eminent physician, scientific leader of Arabkir MC, professor Ara Babloyan, who himself got his second vaccination, said that it is the only way to overcome the virus and when 65-70 percent of population is vaccinated certain results can be seen.

Rector of YSMU Armen Muradyan stressed that it is easier to prevent diseases than to cure them. People who are against vaccination should understand that they are responsible not only for themselves but also for those who are surrounding them.

Ministry of Health and the Municipality joint their efforts to make the process easier. Mobile vaccine units are working in Northern avenue from 12:00 till 20:00. Any information about the vaccination can be get by phones of municipal policlinics. More than 8500 citizens have been vaccinated up today.

Many countries discuss making vaccination obligatory for those who travel from country to country. The Minister said that the government made a decision that the certificate of vaccination, the green passport will be acceptable together with tests, and people won’t have to spend money on tests.

Vaccination will give the opportunity to skip restrictions and live without fear to get infected.
