The head of the Shirinyan-Babajanyan democratic alliance, Arman Babajanyan, spoke about some of the details surrounding the incident where his car was fired at. In an interview with reporters, he said that the neighbors told him they heard noises at around 9-9:30 AM.
Babajanyan did not hear gunshots. “That is when I should have been going to the headquarters by car. And, most likely, they calculated that I was supposed to be in the car, or I should at least have been on my way to the headquarters. I parked my car near my home at 2 AM, and the gunshots were discovered at around 10:30 AM.” According to Babajanyan, he called the police chief, who ordered several subdivisions to go to the crime scene in order to carry out necessary activities.
Babajanyan’s car was taken to the police square. “There is a recording. Our neighbor’s security camera is constantly recording. We were able to get a general picture of the criminal. I saw the recording of a masked individual wearing a hoodie and white clothes with a black pistol in his hand. We do not have details about the gunshots, but part of the bullet was found. The capsule remained on the windshield. There is some damage on a part of the seat, and the other part of the bullet should have been found there. A criminal case has been filed,” Arman Babajanyan said. “I believe that this is an attempt to drown the political processes in fear and horror, but I think we will display the necessary maturity and wisdom. I call on our people to participate in the elections with the same enthusiasm and expectations. Nothing can scare us,” Arman Babajanyan said.
Before the press conference and after he cast his vote, Arman Babajanyan told reporters at the polling station, “We recently received a call, and the representatives of our headquarters told me that Levon Shirinyan received a phone call from another country. They said that some armed groups were formed here that will target the first three people on our alliance’s list. It cannot be ruled out that these gunshots are within the framework of this same group. We are unbreakable. It is impossible to break our will.”
