Sixty young people have left the Syunik province’s Khndzoresk community over the past month. The mayor of Goris, Arush Arushanyan, spoke about this with reporters, citing information provided to the Khndzoresk community leader. According to Arush Arushanyan’s data, emigration from the province has increased overall, although there is no specific data.
“If we are to give objective evaluations, this is due to the fact that they do not have work after losing our historical homeland. Secondly, this situation and environment do not allow people to understand what they will do here tomorrow. The police come to the villages every day to take and release people and to divide them into us vs. you. We have always fought to make sure that such things do not happen in Goris, and we have achieved results. We are still living in that divided society, and how are we supposed to go and defend our homeland tomorrow? We will still go. We will still sacrifice our lives. That is not even up for discussion for a second. However, divided society is dangerous,” he said.
