Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Chairman of the Board of Directors of Air Arabia Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Thani.
Nikol Pashinyan stressed the importance of signing an agreement between the Armenian National Interests Fund (ANIF) and the largest air carrier in the Middle East and North Africa, Air Arabia, on establishing a new national carrier in Armenia. The Acting Prime Minister noted with satisfaction that the ambitious program was developed as a result of months-long consistent talks held between the Civil Aviation Committee, the Armenian National Interests Fund and Air Arabia. Nikol Pashinyan assured that the Armenian government will use the necessary tools to support the new national carrier, which in turn may help boost passenger traffic, attract new investments, develop tourism and provide high-quality services in the aviation sector.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Air Arabia expressed confidence that the formation of Armenia’s national carrier and flights to new destinations will speed up the development of our country’s aviation market. He said they see Yerevan as an exciting opportunity for expanding air communications. The carrier will apply rates typical to budget airlines and provide high-quality services.
Nikol Pashinyan wished the new carrier every success in its operations, noting that the citizens of Armenia consider low-cost air communication as an opportunity to choose destinations and services.
