Azerbaijani servicemen blocked our most important interstate road in Syunik. On that occasion, Prime Minister Pashinyan mentioned in the parliament that negotiations are underway on the issue, but there are other roads to Kapan through the mountains. And after that brief reference, the discussion in the National Assembly went with the usual scenario: “you did this or that during your administration.”
The opposition is swallowing up that agenda, and both sides quickly deviated to their favorite topics.
The whole problem is that even if the events of 5, 10, or 20 years are the cause of the current situation, it does not cancel out the fact that the interstate road of Armenia is controlled by the enemy, which, of course, is a serious blow to our economy (let’s not forget that Armenia is connected to Iran with this route) and the interests of the people living there. It is also proof of the fact that the Armenian Armed Forces, no matter how many reforms are made, do not show any resistance to the aggressive actions of the enemy.
But we must also state that this extraordinary situation does not concern the majority of our citizens.

For example, residents of the Syunik province whose lives are in danger and who are immediately affected by the internal blockade, haven’t come to the Yerevan government building and demanded a solution. Maybe they really think that the fault lies with the “former government.” Maybe they are finally disappointed and are slowly packing their bags. Probably, they are right not to complain. Otherwise, the authorities will accuse any mayor of organizing the rallies and take action against them.
If these people (say, the residents of Kapan) do not complain, it is difficult to expect the rest of the masses to be very upset. I did not notice such a thing. From this, I can conclude that more than 600 thousand citizens, making their choice on June 20th, also gave a mandate to the government to hand over that interstate road to the Azerbaijanis. That is why this issue is not seriously discussed either in the parliament or on other platforms. The citizens have made their choice.
By the way, what happened to the Minister of Defense, who ordered Armenian soldiers to shoot at Azerbaijani soldiers crossing our border?
