Today, a joint event dedicated to the launch of the new website of the Constitutional Court and the 26th Anniversary of Founding of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia was organised by the Constitutional Court and EU-COE Partnership for Good Governance “Support to the Judicial Reform – enhancing the independence and professionalism of the judiciary in Armenia” project.
The event was attended by the Head of European Union Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador H.E. Ms Andrea Wiktorin, President of the Constitutional Court of RA H.E Mr. Arman Dilanyan, Head of the Council of Europe office in Yerevan H.E. Ms. Martina Schmidt, Deputy Head of the Council of Europe Cooperation Programmes Division, Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law, Ms. Lilit Daneghian as well as representatives of diplomatic missions in Armenia and civil society organisations.
“The European Union acknowledges the efforts made by Armenia in recent years in advancing the democratic processes in the country. It is also commendable that the political leadership is committed to start the Constitutional reforms as envisaged by Judicial and Legal Reforms Strategy 2019-2023 via recently established Constitutional Council and Constitutional Commission,“ mentioned ambassador Wiktorin in her speech.
