The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation, Vagharshak Harutyunyan, according to the accepted procedure, handed over the copies of his credentials to the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko, thus starting his diplomatic mission in Russia, which is a strategic partner for Armenia. The new ambassador marked the beginning of his activity by organizing a reception dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Armenian Armed Forces.
The Facebook page of the RA Embassy in Russia wrote about this. Former Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan is the 7th Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Russia since the beginning of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation established in 1993.
He replaced Vardan Toghanyan, who was appointed to that mission in 2017. Ambassador Toghanyan’s diplomatic mission ended on January 21 of this year.

The past four years came to prove what was said, which, without exaggeration, were the most difficult both in the life of the Russian-Armenian community and in the work of the Armenian Embassy in Russia.
However, in honor of the joint efforts of the community structures, the Russian-Armenian Diocese, and the Embassy, they nevertheless overcame the political upheavals that followed the outbreak of the epidemic and the war. The attached video summarizes the activities of the RA Embassy in Russia during the last four years.
