Ishkhan Saghatelyan has received Members of the European Parliament Marina Kaljurand and Juozas Olekas
Chairman of the ARF Supreme Body of Armenia, Vice-speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Ishkhan Saghatelyan has received the Head of the European Parliament Delegation to the South Caucasus Marina Kaljurand and the Member of the European Parliament Juozas Olekas. ARF MPs Artsvik Minasyan, Arthur Khachatryan, and Kristine Vardanyan, as well as Projects manager of ARF Bureau’s International Secretariat Gevorg Ghukasyan also participated in the meeting.
Ishkhan Saghatelyan presented the ARF positions on the situation around the Karabakh conflict, noting that the conflict is not resolved, the final solution is possible only within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairmanship. The Vice-speaker also referred to the ongoing aggression by Azerbajian on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia. He appreciated the joint statement of Mrs. Kaljurand on 2 February 2021 and her speech on 22 February 2022. Marina Kaljurand stressed that a comprehensive settlement is needed which should be negotiated under the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, on the basis of the principles of territorial integrity, non-use of force, self-determination and equal rights of peoples. The European partners reaffirmed their constructive and balanced positions.

The ARF representatives expressed their concerns over the democratic regression in Armenia, noting that the authorities are trying to mislead their European counterparts with misinformation.
The implementation of clear steps for the qualitative development of the relations between the ARF Dashnaktsutyun and the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament (S&D) was especially discussed, further arrangements also were discussed.
The ARF Dashnaktsutyun is the only Armenian party that’s an observer member of the Party of European Socialists (PES). The ARF representatives referred to the memorandum of cooperation that the ARF Parliamentary Faction previously had with the S&D in the EP.
