“No matter how challenging it is, we will continue our development, and also are going to strengthen the transport and logistics infrastructure across the country,” the head of state noted. Putin emphasized that this work would be carried out “in the Baltic and Arctic territories as well as in Russia’s Far East.”

Putin also pointed to the symbolism of the fact that modern, high-tech Russian ships are named after the country’s outstanding commanders, who liberated not only their homeland but the whole world from Nazism. “For these truly brave people, sincere patriots, for whom the independence and sovereignty of our Fatherland were above everything. They saved and defended our country, demonstrating future generations that one must be strong and always go forward,” the president said.
