Phone conversation of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and France
On March 18, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of France Jean-Yves Le Drian.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Jean-Yves Le Drian exchanged views on the issues of the Armenian-French cooperation agenda, particularly referring to the implementation of the Armenian-French economic cooperation roadmap.
The interlocutors discussed a number of issues of regional and international security. Ararat Mirzoyan briefed his counterpart on the situation arising from the provocations and continuous violations of the ceasefire regime by Azerbaijan on the border area with Armenia and in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the facts of targeting and exerting psychological pressure against civilian population.

During the phone conversation, the sides discussed issues regarding the launch of negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan on a peace treaty based on the UN Charter, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Helsinki Final Act. In this context, both parties highlighted the importance of the role of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship.
