The President of the Republic chaired a regular meeting of the Security Council

On March 27, President of the Artsakh Republic Arayik Harutyunyan convened an enlarged meeting of the Security Council.
Welcoming the attendees, the Head of State said:

“During the previous meeting of the Security Council, we made decisions, including an appeal to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to exert efforts to return the enemy to its starting positions through the peacekeeping contingent deployed in Artsakh and to ensure peace in the region. In this regard, the response of the Russian Defense and Foreign Ministries on March 26 is complimented.

The reference of the other OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries, as well as the active work of our partners in Armenia, should be underscored as well. As you know, in order to stabilize the situation, there were telephone discussions between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the President of the Russian Federation, the Ministers of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation succeeded by a telephone conversation between the Ministers of Defense of the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan. In other words, the concerned and responsible countries, assessing the situation, have fulfilled their mediation mission,” President Harutyunyan stated.

Touching upon the speculations of some public and political circles that the aggression of the Azerbaijani side in recent days is the result of certain agreements with the Artsakh authorities, the President described it as provocative and divisive.

“Our agreement is one – the fulfillment of the points of the trilateral statement, there can be no other agreement. Hence, such provocative statements are intended to divert us from real problems, from our unity, and to polarize society.

Not only can there be any agreement, but no decision will be made without discussing it with the Security Council members,” he said.

Subsequently, Minister of Defense of the Artsakh Republic Kamo Vardanyan delivered a report on the recent military-political developments in the country.

Issues related to taking adequate steps in the current situation were clarified again at the meeting. President Harutyunyan gave a number of instructions.
