During our visit to Washington, we met with Congresswoman Katherine Clark, a member of the US House of Representatives.
We discussed the situation around Artsakh and Armenia, the aggressive and criminal actions of Azerbaijan. I informed about current humanitarian crisis in Artsakh, which is the result of a policy of systematic ethnic cleansing by Azerbaijan, the goal of which is the eviction and the forced displacement of Armenians from Artsakh.
I have provided Mrs. Clark with several reports by the Artsakh Human Rights Defender on the substantial evidence about the war crimes committed by Azerbaijan during the four-day war in 2016 and the 44-day war in 2020, and the manifestations of vandalism and the destruction of Armenian cultural heritage, the policy of hatred speech by Azerbaijan, state-directed anti-Armenian rhetoric. The congresswoman noted that she would definitely study all the reports.
I once again asked Mrs. Clark to follow the situation in Artsakh and Armenia and to condemn criminal actions by Azerbaijan and initiate sanctions for Azerbaijan in order to deter the large-scale, murderous aspirations of that country.
