On June 6-9, at the invitation of Switzerland-Armenia Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Swiss Parliament the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, the Head of the NA Armenia-Switzerland Friendship Group Eduard Aghajanyan, members of the Friendship Group Vladimir Vardanyan, Heriknaz Tigranyan, Andranik Kocharyan, Maria Karapetyan were in the Swiss Confederation on a working visit.
The members of the RA NA delegation took part in the reception jointly organized by the Embassy of Armenia to Switzerland and the Switzerland-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Swiss Confederation.
Numerous representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of Switzerland, the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, the civil society and the Swiss Armenian community were present at the reception.

The speakers highly appreciated the bilateral relations formed between Armenia and Switzerland, talked about the joint work done and the outlined programmes and presented the priorities of Armenia.
Within the framework of the visit with the Chair of the Security Policy Committee of the State Council (Upper Chamber of Parliament) of Switzerland Werner Salzmann, the Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee Carlo Sommaruga, The Chair of the Political Institutions Committee Mathias Zopfi, Chair of the Political Institutions Committee of the National Council (Lower Chamber of Parliament) Marco Romano, the Deputy Chair of Foreign Affairs Committee Hans-Peter Portmann, as well as the Head of Swiss Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Damien Cottier had meetings the members of RA National Assembly delegation.
During the meetings the whole scope of bilateral relations was discussed, and ideas were exchanged on the regional developments. The problem of the Nagorno Karabakh and the humanitarian consequences of 44-day war were presented to the Swiss parliamentarians. A talk was held also over the organization and implementation of direct democracy and the legal mechanism and functions in Switzerland.
The members of the RA NA delegation had separate working meeting with the Co-Chairs of Switzerland-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group.
