On 14 June, Ambassador Wiktorin and representatives of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for EU Neighbourhood and Enlargement met with Robert Ghukasyan, governor of Syunik.
Ambassador Wiktorin has informed the Governor of the forthcoming ‘’Resilient Syunik’’ Team Europe initiative (TEI), which will be the joint undertaking of the European Union and the European Investment Bank, as well as member states which have so far expressed an interest in joining efforts with the EU – Austria, Sweden, Germany, France, Poland, as well as Switzerland as a non-member state.
The TEI, which is currently in process of making, will focus on the socio-economic development of Syunik ensuring coordinated actions to improve access to public services, promote private sector development, and sustainable management of natural resources in line with the priorities of one of the Armenia-EU flagship initiatives focusing on Syunik.
