Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Convenes Extraordinary Siting
The NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, chaired by Vladimir Vardanyan, convened an extraordinary sitting on July 14.
The bill on Making Amendments to the Constitutional Law on Making Addenda and Amendments to the Constitutional Law the Judicial Code of the Republic of Armenia authored by the deputies of the NA Civil Contract Faction Vladimir Vardanyan and Alkhas Ghazaryan was debated in the second reading.
The initiative was not amended in the first to the second reading.

The deputies debated in the second reading the bill on Amending the Law on Diplomatic Service authored by the deputy Vagharshak Hakobyan.
Proposals related to the draft were not submitted after the first reading.
The package of the bill on Making Addenda and Amendments to the Constitutional Law the Electoral Code of the Republic of Armenia and the attached ones was debated in the second reading.
The authors propose to provide separate ballots for the parties in the case of elections of the local self-government bodies by the proportional electoral system, regardless of the number of voters, thus eliminating the use of pens during voting .
A number of amendments were made to the package in the first to the second reading. Bills envisaging amendments to the Constitutional Law the NA Rules of Procedure, as well as to the Law on Parties were added in the package. The bill on Making Addenda and Amendments to the RA Administrative Procedure Code was removed from the package.
At the suggestion of the Government, technical amendments were made to the Constitutional Law the Electoral Code of the Republic of Armenia.
In her co-report, Lilit Minasyan, member of the Committee, thanked the authors for doing l arge-scale work. The deputy highlighted the amendments proposed by the initiative.
The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Yeranuhi Tumanyants noted that the initiative was discussed with non-governmental organizations, and public hearings were held. The representative of the Government considered the amendments made in the first to the second reading as acceptable.
The Committee endorsed the debated initiatives.
