We asked National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan about how in his interview, Nikol Pashinyan, referring to the first President Levon Ter-Petrossian’s proposal for consolidation, essentially said that we don’t need that support, and now you are being criticized, where does your self-confidence come from, that in this crisis and war situation, you are against consolidation. Alen Simonyan answered that when there is a proposal for consolidation, they will consider it.
“First, let them understand among themselves what they want. I insist that the prime minister will meet with that proposal whenever it happens. That’s my opinion… You know what, just imagine a composition of Levon Ter-Petrossian, Catholicos, Robert Kocharyan, and Serzh Sargsyan.
I rule out that this composition will agree on something positive together and experience proves it. If they would have agreed, they would have agreed on something over the last 30 years and we would not have had March 1. We would not have had operation “Koltso” on Baghramyan, and we would not have had many, many similar cases. I’m skeptical.”
