I urgently addressed my international colleagues to take practical steps to prevent a possible attack by Azerbaijan․

In recent days, causing tension of the situation by Azerbaijan on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, particularly in the direction of Vardenis, indicates the dangers of a possible new attack by Azerbaijan.

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia spread the message that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces have carried out the movement and release of additional forces and resources, which has caused some tension.

The Azerbaijani side is also continuously spreading misinformation about the Armenian side opening fire, possibly trying to create some grounds for their upcoming possible attack.

Assessing the seriousness of the situation and possible new risks of destabilizing the situation, I sent urgent letters to my international colleagues, presenting the seriousness of the situation, the risks and asking them to take practical steps to prevent Azerbaijan’s new military aggression against Armenia.

Yesterday, during a meeting with US congressmen U.S. Embassy Yerevan, I shared this alarm, as well as a number of other urgent issues, and in my conversation with them, I sounded an “SOS” regarding the fact that Azerbaijan intends to carry out new aggression.

Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, nonpartisan Taguhi Tovmasyan
