October 28,2022 14:14

In the framework of the visit to Canada we held a meeting with Senators from Independent Senators Group, Lucie Moncion, Chair of the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration, and Raymonde Saint-Germain, Chair of Subcommittee on Human Resources of the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration Senate of Canada – Sénat du Canada.
Senators, who were Francophones, warmly welcomed us․ Women rights and political participation, violence prevention activities were a matter of discussion.

I warned my colleagues about the tortures and inhuman treatment against the Armenian women by Azerbaijan, which is a gross violation not only of fundamental human rights, but also of the key principles of the International Humanitarian Law, states were obliged to adhere to in their international relations.
I drew the Senators’ attention to the criminal behavior by Azerbaijan as another case violating the provisions of Geneva Conventions:

Azerbaijan blocks the humanitarian process of taking the bodies of the Armenian soldiers from the Armenian regions occupied by Azerbaijan in the result of the latter’s military aggressions,

Azerbaijan bans the humanitarian process of searching missing Armenian soldiers, also of taking out the blocked Armenian soldiers,

Azerbaijan does not fulfill the process of repatriating the Armenian soldiers captured by Azerbaijan.

Senators Lucie Moncion and Raymonde Saint-Germain expressed their willingness to support Armenia in the process of solving the problems Armenia faces in such a difficult situation.
