“Since it was a closed format, there was no agreement on whether to publish the speeches or not. Each country chose its own work style. Prime Minister Pashinyan has presented his observations”, – addressing the question on why Nikol Pashinyan’s speech during the last CSTO session was not published while the speeches of the Presidents of Russia and Belarus, while Aleksander Lukashenko’s speech contained some harsh comments, Arayik Harutyunyan, Head of the Armenian Prime Minister’s Office, said.
He noticed: “Today, the Prime Minister talked about the meeting held in Sochi and provided clarifications. The observations made by president Lukashenko were answered before. An equally harsh response? What is it, a boxing match? There is no such thing as harsh or soft… we have our tactics and we are guided by them.” Arayik Harutyunyan did not respond to the reminder that years ago, when Nikol Pashinyan was an opposition MP, he demanded an explanation from the President of Belarus for what he said during the meeting with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan. “Armenia leads the EAEU and the CSTO, and it is a very big burden for a country in a transitional period.” Responding to the question as to whether or not the government discusses considering leaving the CSTO, he said: “We do everything for CSTO to complete its responsibilities according to agreements.”
