“Can you imagine if the Russian side starts discussing, saying that the secretary of your Security Council says: they present us with a demand to join the Union State, and the Prime Minister says something like this. are you dissatisfied with us, Armenian democracy wants to save its face, that’s why we are in this situation, we are finishing our mission ahead of time. Tomorrow, suppose the Russian President gives an order: the peacekeeping mission will leave Artsakh. What will happen?”
Edgar Ghazaryan, a member of the “Unification” initiative, stated at the “Mirror” press club, adding that in that case, the dream of Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev will come true, as they are jointly implementing the plan to withdraw the Russian peacekeepers from that area. The speaker reminds us that, first of all, the President of Azerbaijan does not want the presence of Russian peacekeepers there. Still, he has not said anything wrong about the Russian peacekeepers because “that task is assigned to Nikol Pashinyan.”
Edgar Ghazaryan referred to the calls to go to the Russian military base in Gyumri. “What does the 102nd Military Base have to do with it? There are three Russian military missions here: the peacekeeping troops, the 102nd military base, and the border guard troops of the Russian Armed Forces. They are different missions with different troops and different problems. Now it is obvious that these, with their power, fake opposition, and terrorist organizations, are implementing an anti-Russian line. The Russians also say, “Are you unhappy? We will leave, and they will leave.” who will protect Artsakh? Will that help to open the road?”

Edgar Ghazaryan also clarifies that the Russian Federation is not a party to the November 9 statement, the parties are Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the Russian Federation made mediation efforts to sign it and has a peacekeeping mission, the agreements reached in the sense of control.
“For example, concerning the Berdzor Corridor, the Russian side’s responsibility is to control. Armenia and Azerbaijan have assumed the obligations, and if Azerbaijan does not fulfill its obligations, it is the responsibility of Armenia to ensure its fulfillment.” Edgar Ghazaryan, also referring to the decision made in Artsakh to stop the work of “Base Metals” company temporarily, expressed the opinion that the next decision will be the installation of checkpoints on the Stepanakert-Goris road, which Azerbaijan requires.
