Today, on January 19, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan chaired the 19th session of the Small and Medium Business Development Council of the Republic of Armenia. Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Armenia John Gallagher, head of the Yerevan Resident Office of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Giorgi Akhalkatsi, representatives of state bodies took part in the meeting.
Welcoming the newly elected members of the Council, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed confidence that this format of public-private dialogue will continue to be an effective platform for identifying issues of concern to business circles and making the voice of the private sector heard in the decision-making process. Emphasizing the importance of SME development from the perspective of ensuring inclusive economic growth, the Deputy Prime Minister referred to the steps taken by the Government in the direction of ensuring a favorable environment for the formation and growth of these enterprises.
During the session, recommendations aimed at eliminating obstacles that emerge during the activity of small and medium enterprises were discussed, including the introduction of flexible legal regulations for remote and hybrid remote work, the formation of the legal regulatory framework for SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity) contracts, simplification of the rules for paying dividends by LLCs and a number of other issues.
Thanking the members of the Council, Deputy Prime Minister Khachatryan expressed hope that the close cooperation formed during this period with the state administration bodies will be continuous for the benefit of the further improvement of the business environment in Armenia.
