My colleague Aspram Krpeyan and I held a meeting with Philip D. Jaffe, Professor, member of the United Nations committee on the Rights of the Child, and Yann Colliou, Head of the Access to Justice program of the Swiss public organization “Terre des hommes”, yesterday in Parliament.

We discussed essential issues concerning the violated rights of children in Armenia and Artsakh.

I drew the guests’ attention to the recent case of beating of minors at the Erebuni Police Station, in relation to which I had sent them
letters.

I emphasized the need to restore the rights of minors living in Artsakh, as well as in the border villages of Armenia, violated by Azerbaijan, mentioning once again the case of psychological violence by Azerbaijan against the Armenian children of Artsakh.

The guests were concerned about such cases of human rights violations, and they stressed that they were ready to expand cooperation in the
field of human rights protection, particularly child rights. “More efficient actions than just words are needed”, Mr. Jaffe said.

At the end of the meeting, I stated that the protection of human rights is a continuing process that requires daily laborious work. In this
regard, I consider it important to study the experience of the civilized country.
