The “Report on the assessment of the losses of the Artsakh economy as a result of the blockade” was presented in Yerevan. It was prepared by a professional group of economists led by Vardan Aramyan, an international consultant on public finance management, on the order of Ruben Vardanyan, the former Minister of State of the Republic of Artsakh.
Ruben Vardanyan announced via video link: “If we are talking about the crisis and problems that affect the lives of all people, then they should be approached professionally. From the first day of the blockade, we tried to respond promptly to the problems and understand the situation in the long term.
For that, it was necessary to work consistently. I am sure that the work I did was important for us. It is not only a problem of food or electricity, but of the life and future of the state.” Ruben Vardanyan expressed that they also conducted in-depth surveys regarding the situation in Artsakh and received the impressions of the people of Artsakh.
“Understanding the situation, we built the foundation to understand how to prepare for this new situation. The economy is under siege, and we have a new situation besides the losses. The state should not only support but also change the leadership model.”
