On June 9, 2018, I interviewed Ararat Mirzoyan, RA’s first Deputy Prime Minister. I reminded him that people, after being in power for 2-3 years, roughly speaking, “deteriorate.”But what is the prescription for “not spoiling”? The Deputy Prime Minister answered that the remedy is the dream of a new Armenia.
And if something like that happens to someone, there should be a mechanism that will remove that person from the government system. As we can see, there is no such mechanism: today’s ruling deputies are the “worthy heirs” of Shmais and Tokhmakh Mher. It is necessary to understand why such a mechanism does not exist.
First, let’s clarify what kind of mechanisms we are talking about. Hardly legislative. It makes no sense to write in the law: “You can’t spit in people’s faces”. “You can’t say blasphemy to everybody (fuck you all).”You can’t threaten to cut out one’s tongue.” The law cannot foresee every hooliganism and insolence. Therefore, the behavior of people, especially officials, should be limited by the ethical norms dictated by society. What if there is no such prompt? Do you see general public intolerance of such behavior? I, for example, do not see.

On the contrary, most of our citizens like it. It not only discredits the power, as the First President thinks but also raises its rating. The primary reaction is, “Well done; you have a strong spirit; they deserve it. Was it good they were looting the country for 30 years?”
What makes me assume that most of our citizens welcome the behavior of the current authorities? After losing the war and failing in foreign policy, they continue to rule us. In June 2021, it was already quite clear whom we were dealing with, but 680 thousand people voted for them. And arrogant behavior not only does not hinder but also helps them.
Everything is legal. Hooligans choose hooligans; ignoramuses choose ignoramuses; cheeky people choose the most impudence; and haters choose haters. There is a perfect harmony between the power and the “people.”
