“If he doesn’t publish, then he is a liar.” Serzh Sargsyan to Nikol Pashinyan

April 15,2023 13:30

The other day in the parliament, Nikol Pashinyan, responding to the criticisms on that occasion, announced that Armenian-Russian relations have progressed during his administration.

In a conversation with journalists on April 13, the Third President of RA, Serzh Sargsyan, referring to Nikol Pashinyan’s statement that he learned from Serzh Sargsyan’s “secret letter” that the Armenian-Russian relations have deteriorated since 2016, replied: “It is difficult to comment on me, because if the governor of Armenia is trying to talk about the letter signed by me with a “secret seal” from the NA podium, then what else can I say? I can only say the following: I have never seen any document, be it a letter, be it an agreement or any other document, be it with “secret seal” or ordinary, I have never signed anything for which any Armenian can be ashamed.

Let it not sound immodest; on the contrary, if all the documents are published, people will see how the Armenian interest, the interest of the Armenian states, was protected. I insist, let him publish; there is no problem there; he has the right for that, even if he doesn’t have it, he ascribes to himself such rights that he can ascribe this too, but he certainly has. He can declassify, publish, I insist, let him publish; if he does not, he is a liar, although I said such a soft word not to offend you, not him.”
