“As part of the agreements with Azerbaijan, the government of Armenia knew seven months ago that there would be a change in the route of the road connecting Armenia to Artsakh in the Teghi section, and there would be a need to install new roads.
Today, the excuses of the authorities to the question whether the violation of the agreements by Azerbaijan was foreseen, or whether yes, we had shortcomings, but it could have been worse, do not fit into logic in any way,” announced at the urgent press conference of the RA NA “With Honour” faction Tigran Abrahamyan, MP of the opposition faction, referring to the frontline, and added: “After the 44-day war of 2020, a new frontline was formed and after these authorities hand over Kashatagh and Karvachar to Azerbaijan, the front line is vulnerable. The first problem is not the problems of nature, from the means of communication to the security of service members, but the fact that in the post-war period, Azerbaijan has ensured such tactics that it has a dominant position over Armenian bases, as well as Armenian infrastructure and important structures in the front lines. In this sense, the RA authorities recorded a fundamental failure, in which case the Azerbaijanis got a huge advantage.”
Speaking about the training camps held in our country, Tigran Abrahamyan noted: “In our country, training camps are held for implementing combat duty. If the problem is purely the implementation of combat duty, the replenishment of necessary personnel in places, there are other solutions for this. If we spend it under the name of training camps and call it preparation of a combat-ready reserve force, then the set tasks and means of implementation do not correspond to each other.”
Regarding desertion, the deputy said: “Spreading the separate phenomena of the cases of deserters and spies to the armed forces has caused a serious morale-psychological crisis in the army. There were no deserters during the same April combat operations. During the war of the 90s, there was also evasiveness, but the conscripts ensured proper behavior. Desertion does not refer to servicemen but to the political authorities of the day”.
