“The border situation is stable at the moment, it is relatively quiet, but violations of the ceasefire regime are registered in the directions of Gegharkunik and Syunik. The enemy’s goal is to keep the situation tense, but we control it,” Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Edward Asryan said in a briefing with journalists in Jermuk.
He met with French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna in Jermuk. As for the advance of the enemy in the direction of the Tegh community of Syunik Province, according to the Chief of the General Staff, “the Armenian Armed Forces are in contact with the enemy.”
“We already have our front line and are improving the positional system. We are improving daily to gain an advantage over the opponent in some directions,” Asryan said. The latter highly appreciates the work of the EU observation group in the Republic of Armenia.

“With this work, the armed forces of Azerbaijan feel more restrained. So the work along the borders of Armenia is going very well,” said Asryan, noting that the military security of the observers is ensured by our Armed Forces, both at the border points and during their transit.
