France can be helpful to Armenia both in solving the problems related to the country’s security and in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the RA Security Council, expressed such a point of view in a conversation with journalists. It should be noted that the Secretary of the Security Council was also in Jermuk, where the French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna was on April 28.
“France can be useful and help Armenia in many issues and continues to look for ways to help Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. As co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, France continues to be interested in the Nagorno-Karabakh issue,” he said. In particular, according to Armen Grigoryan, France is interested in settling the situation in the Lachin corridor.
“Armenia is working intensively with its international partners to send an international fact-finding mission to the Lachin Corridor and Nagorno-Karabakh. Naturally, we are also discussing this with France and expect to receive support,” said the Secretary of the Council of Armenia.
Referring to the mission of the European Union observation group, Armen Grigoryan noted that more than the number of observers is needed to monitor the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan. “We offer our partners to increase their capabilities, both in terms of the number of people and in terms of other capabilities, so that they can carry out more appropriate monitoring of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border,” said Armen Grigoryan.

Referring to Azerbaijan’s statements that Armenia has not forwarded its peace treaty proposals for more than 40 days, the Security Council Secretary said that Azerbaijan was also late when Armenia delivered its proposals. “It is very normal; we did not transfer for a reason because negotiations are planned. I think Azerbaijan is only pursuing a policy of diverting the international community’s attention from other important issues on irrelevant, unimportant issues.”
