During the parliamentary briefings following the NA regular sittings, the member of the NA With Honor Faction Taguhi Tovmasyan specifically touched upon the ongoing negotiations in Washington and the possible clauses of the document under discussion in response to the questions of the media.
According to the deputy, no document should be signed that can leave Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan in any status discussing the issue of ethnic minority or Artsakh residents with other status in the context of peaceful coexistence with the Azerbaijanis.
“I can’t imagine peaceful coexistence with Azerbaijan. They attempted many invasions and attacks under the ceasefire conditions, committed murders, including among civilians, and talking to them about peace is absurd. Therefore, I cannot say what kind of document it should be, but that document should not contain even a theoretical formulation of Artsakh being part of Azerbaijan,” she said.
The USA talked about the progress of those negotiations, what could this mean? In response to this journalist’s question, Taguhi Tovmasyan opined that the progress refers to the fact that the negotiations took place. “There could be progress for us if we could include the issue of self-determination of Artsakh in that document. If we can turn the political speech of our international partners into legal formulations, we will make progress. I can’t record any other progress,” the MP noted.

The representative of With Honor Faction also touched upon the agenda items of the regular sittings, spoke about the activity of the Inquiry Committee on Investigating the Circumstances of the 44-Day War, and mentioned that the implementation of that process by the Government is not efficient. In the context of the annual report of the activity for 2022 of the RA Prosecutor’s Office, she made a reference to the disclosure of the cases of March 1, stating that Nikol Pashinyan’s promise was not fulfilled, and the case has not been fully disclosed to this day.
The MP also informed about the signature collection she initiated, with which she expresses support for “No to ethnic cleansing of Artsakh” signature collection. “We demand that the illegally set up checkpoint be removed from the Berdzor Corridor and the genocidal policy of Azerbaijan be reviewed. We are obliged to draw the attention of our international partners to these circumstances,” Taguhi Tovmasyan underscored.
