We have already recorded more than once that there is a problem in the Lachin Corridor. It is the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers and the representatives of our Foreign Ministry are in constant contact with the Russian partners. The Secretary of the NA Civil Contract Faction Artur Hovhannisyan said this while touching upon the Azerbaijani provocation that took place near the Hakari bridge during the parliamentary briefings held on June 16.
“We assess this as a provocation by Azerbaijan to disrupt the processes. But we will move with our policy and do everything to restrain all risks of escalation, also through the cooperation with our international partners,” the Secretary of the Faction underlined. He once again noted that the control in the Corridor should be carried out only by the Russian peacekeeping troops.
Regarding the incident, whether the RA MFA should make reference to the Russian side, the deputy of the Civil Contract Faction Babken Tunyan said: “Any response from our side should be harmless to the RA state interests”.
In response to the journalist’s question whether there will be an initiative to change the images on the emblem, Artur Hovhannisyan said: “The Government has no decision to take any initiative.”

Answering another question, Artur Hovhannisyan underscored that the unblocking of roads should take place according to the principles of sovereignty, jurisdiction and equality of each country. “We have stated many times that the RA will not provide a road with any corridor logic. This is a red line for us.”
