Delegation of National Assembly being in Bratislava has a number of meetings
On June 22, the delegation led by the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan, where are deputies Taguhi Ghazaryan and Eduard Aghajanyan met with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Wlachovský.
Sargis Khandanyan recorded with satisfaction that in recent years the cooperation between Armenia and Slovakia activated. He noted that despite the world and regional challenges the preservation of dynamics of political dialogue is very important. He highly appreciated the support of Slovakia in the deployment of the EU long-term civilian mission in Armenia.
Touching upon the security challenges of the region, the Committee Chair presented the consequences of the aggressive policy implemented towards Armenia by Azerbaijan, t5he blocking of the Lachin Corridor and the humanitarian crisis caused because of the latter, considering inadmissible the deployment of the checkpoint in the Corridor by Azerbaijan. He mentioned that Armenia continues remaining faithful in establishing peace in the region and despite all challenges actively takes part in the negotiation process.

The Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia stated that he is happy for the opportunity to discuss the perspectives of bilateral cooperation and confirmed the support of Slovakia in the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the process of strengthening stability and trust in the region.
The parliamentarians met with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic Branislav Sushila. The strengthening of the Armenian-Slovak economic and business ties was emphasized. The perspectives aimed at the increase of the current volumes of the goods turnover between the two countries were discussed.
During the visit the RA NA deputies had meetings with the analyst on foreign policy, the former Foreign Minister of Slovakia Pavol Demeš, as well as the Bishop of Nitra of Slovakia Viliam Judák. The NA delegation visited the Agrarian University of Slovakia and the Volkswagen Plant.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Slovakia Armen Papikyan and the Honorary Consul Bagrat Hakobyan also took part in the meetings.
