“Our brothers and sisters from Askeran are setting up tents in this area, and everyone is waiting for our demand to be fulfilled in the tents. There is no longer any difference whether we are here with social, domestic, food, fuel and other problems or in Stepanakert,” Artsakh State Minister Gurgen Nersisyan announced on July 14 during a demonstration held at the location of Russian peacekeeping forces.
Then they presented their demands in front of the Stepanakert office of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Gurgen Nersisyan assured that no one has any doubts that the Artsakh citizen appreciates any kindness done to him and returns many times over. “In this extreme and challenging period, the Artsakh citizen has always expressed gratitude to the Russian peacekeeping forces. Even today, it stems from our sense of peacekeeping that we all presented ourselves in solidarity and presented our fair and reasonable demands to the Russian peacekeeping forces. That requirement is just a simple thing: to open the way. Let’s preserve the Armenian literate, intelligent type. Do we want more?
Gurgen Nersisyan mentioned that we want to tell the Russian peacekeepers that the people of Artsakh are the number one beneficiary of the tripartite declaration of November 9. “If any of the parties to the tripartite declaration does not fulfill its assumed responsibilities, it does not mean that the people of Artsakh should bear the heavy consequences.
Therefore, we have come here to convey our message on behalf of the entire people of the Republic of Artsakh. It’s not friendly when Artsakh is under a complete blockade, but we see daily helicopter flights.” Gurgen Nersisyan said that according to the agreement reached, several people will meet with the command of the peacekeepers, after which they will return and inform. And the tents of Artsakh residents will remain here until their demands are fulfilled.
