The answer of the MFA Spokesperson to the question of “News.am” news agency
Question. Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov stated in his interview that Armenia is showing an unconstructive approach on unblocking communications in the region by putting forward new conditions, violating the Trilateral statement of 2020 and bringing the process to a deadlock. The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, as well as other officials of the country continue to use the term “Zangezur corridor” in their public discourse. How would you comment?
Answer. The answer to your question can be very brief, it is already present in the question itself: point 9 of the Trilateral statement of November 2020 and the following statement of January 11, 2021 do not envisage such a corridor, in the context of unblocking the region’s transport infrastructure there is no logic of corridor.
Armenia has been declaring repeatedly and at all levels that it is not only willing, but also interested in unblocking economic and transport links in the region, and since the signing of the 2020 Trilateral statement, Armenia has been loyal to the approach stipulated by that statement: the unblocking should take place under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries and on the basis of the principles of equality and reciprocity.
