With the help of his friends, he founded the LyOka’s brand and a workshop in Stepanakert, which he also lost. He told us: “I also lost what I founded. I established a large workshop in Stepanakert. Now we want to try to create it in Yerevan.”
“What should I feel?” How would you feel if you had to leave your home several times, go, and not take anything with you? This is how Artsakh rapper Valeri (LyOka ) Ghazaryan answered Aravot.am’s questions about the situation and his feelings when communicating with forcibly displaced Artsakh residents.
Valeri Ghazaryan lost his house in Nor Maragha due to the 2020 war. He has lost his home in Artsakh three times already. In one of the interviews, Valeri Ghazaryan said they lived in different places in Martakert, Stepanakert, and Drombon. They even lived in a school classroom: five families, each of which had three or four children, and they took turns sleeping in school chairs.
With the help of his friends, he founded the LyOka’s brand and a workshop in Stepanakert, which he also lost. He told us: “I also lost what I founded. I established a large workshop in Stepanakert. Now we want to try to create it in Yerevan.” He wrote on his Facebook page: “We lost our homeland, Artsakh. I lost my house for the 3rd time, and along with the house, I lost the workshop. I lost everything: 3 houses, homeland, work, friends, and relatives, but I did not lose my hope, faith, and desire to live.”

To our question, as an individual, have you thought about whether it was possible to avoid the tragedy in Artsakh? Valeri Ghazaryan answered: “You should ask that question to a politician. I am unaware of what they decided that was discussed; I cannot answer that question. As an individual who lives somewhere and is engaged in some business and does not get involved in such things, what do I know if it was possible or not? I do not know. You ask questions I haven’t thought about; I can’t answer those questions because I don’t know many things.”
