On November 2, the preliminary debates of the draft law on the RA State Budget for 2024 continued at the joint sitting of the NA Standing Committees on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Protection and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.
The RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan said that 8 billion 792 million drams are planned to be allocated to the Ministry of Environment in 2024, 13% of which will be allocated to the capital, and 87% to the current expenses. The Ministry’s budget has increased by 2% compared to this year. The Ministry will implement 5 programmes and 20 measures. It is planned to allocate 45 billion drams to the agricultural sector, which has increased by 7 billion 220 million drams. 5 programmes and 36 measures will be implemented in this sphere, 4 of which are new. The budget of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure will be 173 billion drams in the coming year, 31% of which will be allocated to the capital and 77% to current expenses. Here there is a decrease of 4 billion drams compared to last year. The Ministry will implement 13 programmes and 79 measures.
6 billion 344 million drams will be allocated to the regional administrations, which has slightly decreased compared to last year due to the reduction of positions.
In 2024, it is planned to allocate 152 billion drams or 5% of the total budget expenditures to the communities, which is 1.2% of the gross domestic product (GDP).
