The draft proposes in the Article 20.2 to replace the word ‘of the police’ into ‘Ministry of Internal Affairs’ words, which stems from the use of the Article 3.21 of the RA law No HO-458-N on making Amendment and Addendum to the law on State Administration System Bodies, adopted on December 16, 2022, according to which, the implementation of the Police functions was reserved to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The Head of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs Armen Ghazaryan said this at the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Defence and Security on November 6, presenting for debate in the first reading the draft law on Amending the law on Defence.
As the Committee Chair Asndranik Kocharyan has assured, the amendment is of technical character.
The Committee members endorsed the draft law.
