On November 30, in Skopje, on the sidelines of the 30th OSCE Ministerial Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Espen Barth Eide, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed topics of cooperation between the two countries, commending both the current dynamics and the willingness to further deepen the bilateral relations. Views were exchanged on expanding cooperation in targeted areas of mutual interest, as well as in areas attractive to business circles.
Highlighting the reforms of the Republic of Armenia and the high indexes recorded in recent years in the areas of strengthening democratic institutions, the rule of law and the protection of human rights in Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the importance of active cooperation and development assistance with Norway in these directions. Both sides attached great importance to the deepening of the Armenia-EU partnership in supporting democracy and in other directions.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Norway thoroughly discussed the latest developments and existing tendencies in the South Caucasus. Minister Mirzoyan briefed his counterpart on Armenia’s overall vision of establishing stability and lasting peace in the region, as well as on existing concrete initiatives and steps undertaken in that direction. In this context, attaching importance to the implementation of inclusive regional programs, Ararat Mirzoyan elaborated on the separate components of the “Crossroads of Peace” project developed by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.

During the meeting, the interlocutors touched upon the steps scheduled and already implemented by the Government of Armenia towards addressing the needs and rights of forcibly displaced Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of ethnic cleansing carried out by Azerbaijan.
