As part of the Armenia-Austria friendship group, we hosted Austrian parliamentarians Ewa ERNST-DZIEDZIC, Sybille HAMANN, Johannes MARGREITER, Christian OXONITSCH, representatives of the Armenian community in Austria, Nicole KHACHATUROVA and Herbert LANGSNER, in the National Assembly of RA.
Touching upon Azerbaijan’s armed aggressions, ethnic cleansing and genocide policy against the Republic of Artsakh, as a result of which 120,000 Artsakh Armenians were deprived of their historical homeland by forced displacement, I noted that no international legal norms apply in our region.
During the days of forcible displacement, women, children, and other civilians were killed in Artsakh, but there was no reaction from the international community.
I drew the attention of my colleagues to the necessity of restoration of property rights, preservation of spiritual and cultural heritage in Artsakh. I presented how the Armenian churches of Artsakh are turned into mosques, cultural monuments are destroyed, and graves are desecrated by Azerbaijan.

I referred to the severe consequences of the gasoline explosion in Artsakh, during which even basic aid could not be provided properly because of the obstacles caused by Azerbaijan.
I mentioned the importance of international efforts to the immediate return of the political and military-political elite, all prisoners of the Republic of Artsakh, and to find the missing persons. I informed them that from January 31, 2020, Azerbaijan unilaterally stopped the search for the latter.
I emphasized that the civilized society should make every effort to preserve ARMENIAN Artsakh until the return of Artsakh Armenians to their historical homeland.
