It is proposed to change calculating the amount of pension for the judge appointed in the position of the member of the Constitutional Court before July 1, 2014.
The new regulations being proposed in the law on Constitutional Court were debated in the first reading at February 20 sitting of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.
The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Levon Balyan noted that it is also designed to set retroactive force for amendment being made, as a result of which, the effect of the law will be spread on two retired judges of the Constitutional Court.
In her co-report the deputy Alkhas Ghazaryan proposed her colleagues to vote for the initiative.

As the Committee Chair Vladimir Vardanyan clarified, the problem was caused in the judicial system after the amendments of 2014, as result of which, the system regarding the judges’ social guarantees had essentially changed. He added that the non-balanced situation in the issues concerning the social guarantees and pension of the judges served in different times.
The addenda and amendments authored by the Government to the law on Remuneration of the persons holding state positions and state service positions were debated in the second reading. The Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) Rustam Badasyan informed that editorial amendments were made during the period from the first to the second reading. He reminded that the programme is pilot, the goal is the introduction of a fair remuneration system on the basis of the performance. The standards of the performance assessment will be set by the decision of the Government, and calculation order – by the order of the SRC Chairman.
The debated issues were endorsed by the Committee.
