The NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Protection debated the Government’s legislative initiative in the first reading at the sitting on February 21, by which amendments and addenda are designed to be made to the Law on Management of Multi-Apartment Building and the RA Code on Administrative Offenses.
The First Deputy Chairman of the RA Urban Development Committee, the Acting Chairman Davit Grigoryan mentioned that in order to settle the problems related to building management, it is proposed to establish a requirement for the transfer of the documents to be transferred by the developer to the building management body after the construction of the apartment building.
It is also proposed to establish liability for non-fulfilment of the duties of the developer of a newly built or built multi-apartment buildings.

During the debate, the MPs raised a number of issues, which specifically related to the construction permits for the newly constructed buildings, maintenance control of the buildings, the master plan of Yerevan, and the violations during construction.
The Committee Chair Vahe Ghalumyan pointed out that there are problems that can be addressed in the format of parliamentary hearings.
The Committee endorsed the debated issue. The draft was proposed to be included in the draft agenda of the upcoming regular sittings of the National Assembly.
