At February 2 9 sitting , the National Assembly continued debating debated the issue of electin g the Chairman of the Public Services Regulating Commission (PSRC) of the Republic of Armenia. The Government nominated for that position Garegin Baghramyan as a candidate.
On behalf of the RA NA Armenia Faction Artsvik Minasyan gave a speech. The Secretary of the Faction touched upon the issue of election of the judge of the Constitutional Court, which was held yesterday. Let us remind that the General Assembly of RA Judges proposed the Davit Balayan’s candidacy for electing in the vacant position of judge of the Constitutional Court. Artsvik Minasyan criticized the ruling faction, which did not take part in secret ballot, as a result of which Davit Balayan was not elected.
On behalf of the RA NA Civil Contract Faction Babken Tunyan delivered a speech. Responding to Artsvik Minasyan’s speech, Babken Tunyan noted that the day before it was probably the first precedent that the opposition took part in the election, The MP assured that the Faction exercised the reserved right to it, as according the appropriate law, the deputy can elect, cannot elect or cannot take part in the election.
“It is the issue of electing of Chairman of a very important structure,” Babken Tunyan said, coming back to the issue under debate, noting that this is the structure, and related to which the problems and issues are numerous, as they refer to all citizens’ everyday activities.
