On May 23, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway to Armenia Bergljot Hovland.
Congratulating Bergljot Hovland on being appointed Ambassador to Armenia, Sargis Khandanyan expressed hope that the implementation of the joint programmes in different directions will be continuous and effective.
The Ambassador of Norway thanked the Committee Chair for warm words, noting that she is ready to have her contribution to strengthening of bilateral relations. According to her, Norway highly assesses the democratic reforms implemented in the Republic of Armenia in recent years.
Highlighting the role of the EU Civilian Observation Mission in Armenia, the Committee Chair welcomed the initiative of Norway to join the mission.

Sargis Khandanyan thanked Bergljot Hovland for the participation of Norway in the implementation of the Second Programme of the Modern Parliament for Modern Armenia Project. He attached importance to the support aimed at the development of the capacities of parliament.
The Committee Chair also presented the support programmes being implemented for our compatriots forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh.
Issues on cooperation, as well as processes going on in the region were discussed.
The activation of interaction between the namesake Committees was emphasized.
