On September 17, the opening ceremony of the Second Global Armenian Summit, organized by the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, took place in Yerevan.
The summit has brought together 1,000 participants from 60 countries, aimed at fostering the involvement of the Armenian Diaspora in addressing key issues in Armenia. The summit serves as a platform for strategic discussions, promoting solidarity, mutual understanding, and collaborative solutions among Armenians worldwide.
At the opening ceremony of the summit, speeches were delivered by Republic of Armenia President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan, and former U.S. Congresswoman Jackie Speier.
The working sessions of the Second Global Armenian Summit are centered around key thematic areas: security and resilience, sustainable development, community engagement, and repatriation. These themes will be explored in depth through various formats, each with its own subtopics and layers for comprehensive discussion.
The summit will feature 6 panel discussions, 22 simultaneous sessions, a round-table discussion, a workshop, 3 thematic exhibitions, and cultural events. A total of 180 speakers and moderators from 25 countries are participating in these diverse formats.
